50/50 two vineyard blend of Nalle Estate Old Vine Zinfandel and Bernier-Sibary field blend is a testimony to over 36 years of experience in bottling balanced, flavourful Zin reflective of Dry Creek Valley. The estate 93yr old vines are dry-farmed and head trained, yielding intense fruit flavours, balanced acidity, and structured tannins. Soils here are well-drained, gravelly clay and loam which help to impart layered notes of raspberry and strawberries. The Bernier-Sibary ‘Zinyard’ yields fruit with focused, lively flavours. Harvested and fermented together, the Petite Syrah and Carignan add colour and mid-palate strength to complement the brambly, complex flavours. Slightly acidic, fine loamy soils formed from sandstone and found mainly in steep mountainous areas encourage the development of small berries with tempered acidity and weighty tannin structure.
Or leave it to Jancis….’ Well balanced and claret-like. So different from most Zins! Really rather sophisticated. Dry finish. Neither sweet nor heavy and with very bordelais weight. Pure and fresh on the end.’ 16.5+

Quick note on Fine Wine purchasing.
When ordering that special bottle of wine it is worth doing a little research before making a purchase. Wine is a living product, which goes through changes and stages of development in the bottle, as well as varying between vintages. If you are considering ordering an older vintage we recommend speaking to a member of staff or using a review site like cellartracker.com to try and get as full a picture as possible of the flavour profile and development of the bottle you are considering.
